How long have you gone without sleep? or how long can you stay without
sleep?Most people feel asleep immediately after taking
lunch.What we do know is that it is unwise to ignore
our need for sleep. The negative side effects of
partial sleep deprivation have been observed in in
countless research studies and it is safe to
assume that these would only be worsened by
prolonged total sleep deprivation.
INSOMNIA
is a sleep disorder in which there is an inability to fall asleep or to stay
asleep as long as desired.
Symptoms of insomnia:

Difficulty falling asleep, including
difficulty finding a comfortable sleeping
position
Waking during the night and being
unable to return to sleep
Feeling unrefreshed upon waking
daytime sleepiness , irritability or anxiet
Difficulty initiating sleep.
Difficulty maintaining sleep, characterized by
frequent awakenings or problems returning to
sleep after awakenings.
Early-morning awakening with inability to
return to sleep.
DEMENTIA
While symptoms of dementia can vary greatly , at
least two of the following core mental functions
must be significantly impaired to be considered
dementia:
*Memory
*Communication and language
*Ability to focus and pay attention
*Reasoning and judgment
*Visual perception.
OTHER EFFECTS OF LACK OF SLEEP
*Hallucinations
*Death
*Weight loss
